Perched in an idyllic residential community along the shores of a 150-acre lake, you’ll find the strikingly monochromatic contemporary lake house designed by A. A. Luketic & Associates. The home marries tranquillity and functionality to create an essence of luxury with custom features and finishes. Even though this residence, with its contemporary design, is different than its neighbors, the home speaks to its surroundings with everyday materiality, geometry, and scale.
Q&A A DAY WITH NEW HOME BUILDERS
The home's exterior façade uses a mix of high-end building materials, including the custom blend of Polar White Clear and Yukon Blend brick, to significantly impact the look and overall feel. The architect's attention to detail and the builder's attention to their craft are apparent in all aspects of the project. Not only does this home feature brick on the exterior, but it also incorporates the stunning Antique Colonial molded brick to the home's interior in the Four Seasons Room, which makes its view of the lake even more breathtaking.
Brick is carefully laid in Flemish and running bond with soldier courses around windows and recessed brick detailing, accentuating the verticality of the house. The transformative texture of the brick creates delicate color variations – in some lights, it appears soft white, and in others, light tan, creating something beautiful with its surroundings and emphasizing the timeless feel.
When we asked the homeowners about their experience collaborating on the design of their home using Belden brick, here is what they had to say:
Q: Why did you decide to build your new home?
We were fortunate to obtain a beautiful location on a lake. We have two wonderful views; to capture them, we needed to build a new home. The building experience was fantastic!
Q: What made you custom blend the face brick colors Polar White Clear and Yukon Blend as your exterior building material?
We were excited by the balance of light brick with pops of darker tones and the color the blends ultimately made together. We are extremely happy with the selection made with the help of the Belden team.
Q: What was your design inspiration?
The views of the lake from our property are spectacular. We confirmed this by having our builder erect scaffolding to the height of the first floor so we would see the views before the first brick was laid.

Q: What was your favorite/least favorite part of the process?
Our favorite part of the process was our builder and the many ideas he brought to the table as we built our home. He is fantastic! Our least favorite was the time it took to complete our project. We were very excited to get in, and we needed more patience!
